How the referral network works

rmtly.org connects you with open AI engineering roles on micro1's platform. Here's exactly what happens at each step — and what to expect.

01

Browse Open Roles

Click any "Browse Roles" link on this site. You'll go directly to micro1's platform, where their full catalog of open AI engineering, ML, and full-stack positions lives. All role details, requirements, and compensation information are on their side — not ours.

02

Get Candidate Consent

If you know someone who'd be a strong fit, you must get their explicit consent before referring them. This is required by micro1's Referral Program Terms. Talk to the candidate first, confirm they want to be referred, then proceed.

03

Submit the Referral

Use the referral link to submit the candidate through micro1's system. The candidate must not already be in micro1's system. micro1 will evaluate fit at their sole discretion — there are no guaranteed outcomes.

04

Placement & Payout

If micro1 places your candidate on a paid project, and they meet the tracked hour and timeframe requirements defined in micro1's program terms, a referral payout may be issued to you through micro1's payment processor (Shopify or Stripe).

Important: rmtly.org is an independent referral participant, not a recruiter, agent, or representative of micro1. We do not control hiring decisions, placement terms, or payout timing. All program rules are governed by micro1's Referral Program Terms.

Common questions

Do I need to be a developer to refer someone?

No. Anyone can participate in micro1's referral program as long as they meet the eligibility requirements — 18+, not a micro1 employee or contractor, and not referring themselves. You don't need to be technical to know a talented engineer.

How much can I earn per referral?

As of this writing, micro1's program offers up to $3,000 per qualified placement. Exact amounts and requirements are defined on micro1's referral program page and may change at any time. rmtly.org makes no guarantee of payout amounts.

What makes a referral "qualified"?

Per micro1's terms: the candidate must not already be in their system, must be appropriate for the role at micro1's discretion, must be placed on a paid project, and must meet tracked hour and timeframe thresholds after onboarding.

Can I refer myself?

No. micro1's terms explicitly prohibit using referral links to refer yourself as a candidate.

Who handles payout and taxes?

Payouts are processed by micro1 through third-party processors (Shopify or Stripe). You are responsible for reporting and paying taxes on any referral income you receive.

What happens if micro1 changes or ends the program?

micro1 reserves the right to modify or discontinue their referral program at any time without notice. rmtly.org has no control over program terms or continuity.
